The merits from growing your own vegetables are numerous from the superior taste compared to regular supermarket produce to having a greater understanding of where our food comes from and how it is produced. Building on knowledge and experience gained from being involved and setting up various market garden projects we have designed a vegetable growing course that is tailored to suit the needs of the first time gardener to the more experienced. The course is run on one half day a week for six weeks covering the basic principles of vegetable growing. Participants will cover topics such as, propagation, crop rotation, organic practices, pests and diseases, vegetable varieties. Harvesting and storing. After completing our course you will have the confidence and knowledge to grow a wide variety of vegetables in your own back garden or allotment.
